Corista, a Provider of Integrated Digital Pathology Solutions, Announces the Appointment of Keith Kaplan, MD as Chief Medical Officer

In this role, Dr. Kaplan takes on a dual responsibility to provide a pathologist’s perspective on Corista’s product development, and increase market adoption of digital pathology to improve healthcare and reduce overall healthcare costs.

Dr. Kaplan joins Corista as Chief Medical Officer, effective April 17, 2014. Dr. Kaplan is a practicing Pathologist and recognized thought leader in digital pathology. Dr. Kaplan’s widely read Digital Pathology blog, is one of the leading sources of news, information, and research data in the rapidly growing field of digital pathology.

Dr. Kaplan is a graduate of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. While at Walter Reed, Dr. Kaplan was named Resident of the Year, and in conjunction with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Dr. Kaplan founded and directed the Army Telepathology Program.

Dr. Kaplan is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters, editorials and scientific abstracts and frequently lectures at both national and international meetings on topics related to pathology informatics.

Dr. Kaplan currently serves as a member of the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathology and the American Society of Cytopathology as well as the American Pathology Foundation. He is also an executive board member of the American Pathology Foundation.
