Ms. Wingard founded Corista with the goal of delivering a platform for physicians that would dramatically improve the delivery of pathology. With more than 25 years of experience in business development, sales, and marketing, Ms. Wingard has specialized in the introduction of innovative technologies for emerging markets. In previous positions, she was the key driver of growth for companies delivering technologies to Fortune 1000 companies in several industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, banking, and business process management. Ms. Wingard has built revenue streams of over $1B for the business ventures she’s led.

Prior to launching Corista, Ms. Wingard held senior executive positions in sales and business development for a wide range of technology-driven companies, including Op40, Vicorp, IBJ Schroder, Sprint, and AT&T.

Ms. Wingard holds a BA and an MA from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Keith J. Kaplan, MD, serves as the company’s Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Kaplan contributes to the development of Corista’s digital pathology platform and to expanding market awareness of how Corista’s platforms can materially improve the delivery of pathology while improving patient care.

Dr. Kaplan is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. A graduate of Michigan State University, and Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Kaplan completed his residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. While at Walter Reed, in conjunction with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Dr. Kaplan founded and directed the Army Telepathology Program. This Program connected 25 hospitals internationally for consultation via telepathology

Dr. Kaplan was also with Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota, as an Associate Professor of Pathology at Mayo Medical School. At Carolinas Health Systems in Charlotte, NC, Dr. Kaplan held the Pathology Informatics Chair as CIO of Pathology practice.

Dr. Kaplan currently is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Cytopathology, and the American Pathology Foundation. He is also an executive board member of the American Pathology Foundation. Dr. Kaplan is the publisher of tissuepathology.com, the industry’s leading pathology blog, and a contributor to Corista’s blog.

Chief Medical Scientist and Pathologist David C. Wilbur, MD, is leading the medical efforts for Corista’s artificial intelligence studies. Dr. Wilbur is focused on using technology to improve physician workflows, productivity, and accuracy.

Prior to retirement from clinical practice, Dr. Wilbur was Director of the Cytopathology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and led the Pathology Department’s initiative in clinical digital pathology. Dr. Wilbur remains a Professor of Pathology Emeritus at Harvard Medical School.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wilbur earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester. He has authored over 200 scientific papers and is the co-editor of the 3rd and 4th editions of the popular textbook Comprehensive Cytopathology, as well as several other pathology texts. He has received numerous awards for his work in pathology, including The College of American Pathologists President’s Honors, Lifetime Achievement, and Distinguished Service awards. He is a past president of the American Society of Cytopathology and, in 2010, received that society’s highest honor – the Papanicolaou Award.

Dr. Barrett brings over three decades of experience in translational research to Corista as Chief Life Sciences Officer, leading biomarker development strategies using digital pathology. Prior to joining Corista, Dr. Barrett was Vice President of Translational Medicine and Oncology Biomarker Development in Oncology Research and Development at AstraZeneca. His responsibilities included developing and executing biomarker strategies and translational sciences efforts to support drug development. Dr. Barrett also served as the Global Head of Oncology Biomarkers and Imaging at Novartis Oncology Translational Medicine. He was the founding Director of the NCI Center for Cancer Research (CCR), which is part of the NCI Intramural Center for Translational Medicine and Novel Technologies.

Mr. Wingard has 25 years of experience in medical imaging and healthcare technologies. Mr. Wingard has held senior executive positions at Access Radiology Corporation, an early provider of tele-radiology platform services, Tel-Care Inc., Multimedia Medical Systems, and Vidimedix Corporation. As the senior executive for Sprint’s Healthcare efforts, Mr. Wingard designed and developed Sprint’s healthcare technology capability, HANDS™, which set the standard for telemedicine and tele-radiology. Prior to joining Sprint, Mr. Wingard directed AT&T’s Healthcare Industry’s Sales and Marketing efforts.

Since 1999, Mr. Wingard has been the CEO of EuclidIQ. With over 52 patents granted and pending, EuclidIQ’s technology is focused on major innovation and product development in the video processing and compression industry. Recently, major advances have been made in the mobile video sector. With over 5 billion mobile devices worldwide, early EuclidIQ customers are able to stream high-definition video to mobile devices in bandwidth-starved areas of the world. EuclidIQ is also working with early customers in the $135 billion mobile ad industry, helping them improve Ad impressions and completions of consumers watching high definition Ads on mobile devices around the world.

Mr. Wingard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BA degree in Psychology.

Wayne Butler brings more than 25 years of leadership in Life Sciences, Clinical, and CRO markets to Corista. As Chief Commercial Officer, he has guided the company’s shift to continuous customer engagement, expanded global partnerships, and built a multimillion-dollar growth pipeline.

Before joining Corista, Wayne held senior roles at Proscia, Leica Biosystems (Danaher), Sparta Systems, and Xybion. His experience includes driving enterprise agreements with industry leaders such as Novartis, Pfizer, and Eli Lilly.

Wayne is known for developing strong partner ecosystems, leading large-scale commercial transformations, and consistently exceeding growth targets. He is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and has served in multiple board-level leadership initiatives.   

Conner Wingard has been with Corista since 2008, when he helped develop the first prototypes of what would become the DP3 platform. Over the years, he’s served as a key contributor, technical lead, and architect before moving into leadership as the company grew.

With 15 years of software engineering experience, Conner is Corista’s resident technologist and problem solver. He has a passion for product design and development, building strong teams, and helping customers successfully adopt digital pathology solutions.

He holds a BA in Electronic Game Programming from Champlain College.
