At the Forefront of Digital Pathology
Orchestrating Better Outcomes
Corista, originally named after the Italian word ‘tuono corista’, is a tuning instrument used in orchestras and with choir members to keep musical pitch and consistency. Our founders have a passion for music and instrumentation, and with their backgrounds in healthcare and radiology, the name Corista seemed fitting as it marries the goals of quality and consistency in pathology labs and across the field of pathology.
Our founders, Elizabeth and Richard Wingard, had the foresight to bring harmony to pathology labs by building their advanced digital pathology image management system. Providing pathologists, data scientists, and researchers with a central platform, DP3 enables efficient management of digital image data, optimized analysis and annotations, and enhanced peer-to-peer collaboration that overcomes geographic barriers and connectivity challenges.
Meet the Team Powering
Our Image Management Platform

Mr. Wingard is a seasoned healthcare technology executive with more than 25 years of experience driving innovation in medical imaging, telecommunications, and digital health. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at organizations including Access Radiology Corporation, Tel-Care Inc., Multimedia Medical Systems, Vidimedix Corporation, Sprint, and AT&T, where he consistently pioneered breakthrough solutions that reshaped how healthcare is delivered and experienced.
In the 1990s, Mr. Wingard played a key role in advancing digital healthcare solutions. At Access Radiology, he led the development and commercialization of one of the first digital radiology SaaS platforms in the U.S., contributing to the company’s eventual acquisition. At Tel-Care, he introduced the first digital TV-based patient education and entertainment system, enabling hospitals to improve patient engagement while generating new revenue streams. His work at Multimedia Medical Systems, in collaboration with the University of Virginia, helped bring to market an FDA-approved radioactive seed imaging system for prostate cancer treatment that remains widely used today. Additionally, at Nomos, he contributed to the development of inverse planning software, a breakthrough in radiation therapy that is now foundational in cancer treatment worldwide.
In the early 2000s, Mr. Wingard continued to lead innovation in telemedicine and remote care. At Vidimedix, he developed advanced telemedicine systems integrating remote diagnostics and treatment capabilities, earning global recognition. Through Image Labs, and in collaboration with Brigham & Women’s Hospital, he helped pioneer telecardiology solutions that enabled real-time remote cardiac procedure support—technology that has since become standard practice.
During his time as CEO at EuclidIQ, Mr. Wingard led the development of cutting-edge video processing and compression technologies, with over 52 patents granted or pending. Under his leadership, EuclidIQ enabled high-definition video streaming to mobile devices in bandwidth-constrained environments and supported advancements in the global mobile advertising industry by improving ad delivery and engagement.
Mr. Wingard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His career reflects a consistent pattern of innovation, commercialization, and industry impact, culminating in the founding of Corista and continued leadership in advancing digital pathology and healthcare technology solutions.
